As I left Falmouth and felt the sun rise I was filled with great anticipation about the WED Show I was heading to. Following on from the very successful previous event at Treriefe House last year, this one could only be bigger and better! I managed to navigate to Bocconoc House using the handy impactive signs Brendan (WED magazine) had spent three hours in the rain erecting the day before. Trust me, it was worth it, they were some windy roads!
Working as part of the WED team that day was great, what a brilliant event to be part of. Greeting and assisting all exhibitors and watching them set up started to fill the marquee with a friendly, vibrant atmosphere, everyone buzzing with anticipation for the arrival of guests.
The house was dressed and set up for weddings, styled and designed beautifully from some of the fantastic exhibiting florists and stylists. Every room had its own theme and what made the event special was the open house for guests to come and lounge in front the real fire and sip tea out of delicate vintage china. All current and existing issues of Devon and Cornwall WED magazine available to browse and take away too.
The queue was long and filled with excited guests! While they waited to enter we made sure they knew to take advantage of all our freebies, including some delicious bubbles courtesy of Polgoon, wine tasting workshops, an array of canapés, hair and make up trials, free photos from the photo booth and of course the naughty but very nice chocolate fountain!
Every exhibitor had put a lot of time and effort into their stand and this really showed as you made you way around the marquee. With over 700 guests visiting that day the event was a huge success with nothing but positive feedback and smiling faces.
I had such a good day I didn't even mind that I had to have my car towed out of the mud at the end.... my fault for parking in a ditch... I was just too eager to get in, clearly.
